Do I need a Hive?

Do you enjoy cooking and preparing food from raw vegetables and fresh fruit? If so, you always have waste that cannot be used.  is it  thrown away into a compost bin or just a compost heap in the garden or put in the bin to go to landfill?.  If you have ever looked inside your compost bin or heap you will no doubt have seen worms in there. The worms are there because what is in the heap is food that they like to eat.  Worms are nature’s natural digesters of green waste.

To establish if you and your family could use a worm hive answer the following questions. If you answer Yes to at least 3 questions you should seriously consider having a worm hive.

  1. Prepare meals from fresh vegetables and fruit every day  and therefore have peelings and waste that is ideal food for worms?
  2. Love eating fruit as a snack? Worms love apple cores and banana peels.
  3. Love gardening and grow some of your own vegetables?
  4. Love animals?
  5. Believe in recycling?
